Team overview and job responsibilities

We are looking for a HR Specialist to join our HR team. Based in Heredia Costa Rica, the candidate will be responsible for providing, maintaining and ensure that Compensation and Benefits programs are in line with the organization’s objectives, culture, and in compliance with current competition rules and procedures. Also, will be responsible of reporting and controlling processes and HR data Analysis.

Job responsibilities

  • Ensures the HR (headcount and Labor Cost) timely and accurate reporting within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Provide support for the development of country annual reviews, job design, staffing, compensation and organizational change effectiveness.
  • Provide support on local change initiatives with impact on HR planning and staffing and cost structure impact.
  • Respond to enquiries from employees about payroll, payments and other administrative issues;
  • Coordinates with the external payroll agency the weekly and biweekly payroll, conducting the necessary processes for payment of the various components of salary, such as vacation pay, overtime, sales commissions, etc.
  • Is also responsible for payment of legal charges and statutory withholdings, such as employee guarantee fund, social security, income tax, labor dues, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally to support projects related to compensation and benefits resulting from department restructuring, company surveys, job analysis and ad-hoc requests.
  • May prepare special studies and recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation, and other benefit plans.
  • Ensure that organization and employee-related records are accurate, accessible and secure and in compliance with relevant privacy regulations. Information managed may include job history; retirement and insurance documentation; leave records; and details of illness, absences, transfers, and salary progression.
  • Analyze statistics to identify problem circumstances for staff and provide recommendations for improvement.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • You must have the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, and possess great attention to detail, be strong with numbers, analytically inclined, great communication and must have strong Ethics and Discretion.
  • You should be comfortable working with employees at all levels of the organization and representing Prysmian Group in a positive manner
  • You should be resourceful, possess a strong focus on continuous improvement, and have strong problem-solving ability

Who are we looking for?

  • BS/BA degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field. SPHR Certification preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of Human Resource generalist experience in a demanding manufacturing environment, preferably experience working at the Central America Region.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams.
  • Advanced Excel (Required)
  • Working knowledge of HRIS software. (Examples would include Workday, Success Factors, Exactus Soft land)
